Neef 987 Robert A. Wade Short Flat Taklon brushes are also called a shader, this is a short handled brush with a flat ferrule and square hair.
Neef named their Taklon brush range after Robert Wade, the renowned Australian Watercolour Artist who favorited the Neef Taklon brushes. He is often referred to as "Australia's unofficial ambassador to Water Colour."
Until recently (say the last 20 years) all brushes were made from animal hair. The NEEF Robert Wade series of brushes are a high quality synthetic brush and are really quite amazing in their performance and reasonably priced. They offer a great point, great spring and precise control. A delight to use and suitable for all media particularly when brush marks are not required in the paint film. While hey do not carry quite as much colour as natural sable/squirrel, they are a fraction of the price and offer great value
